Reference Index for Biblical and Hebrew Terms

I realize how confusing it can be to keep track of a large quantity of strange or unfamiliar terms, names and titles which often get used here. I’ve provided this reference source with definitions for an easy way to look up these terms when they are encountered.

I’ve tried to make it as thorough as possible but I will continually add to it if more should come to mind, or anyone inquires on something not listed here.

angel –

Term specifically referring to the messenger class of spiritual, heavenly beings created prior to humanity. Used in a modern context to refer generally to all classes of spiritual, heavenly beings.

cherub –

Class of spiritual beings having four distinct forms – humanoid, lion, eagle, ox. (plural: cherubim) Hebrew: keruwb.

chimera –

A term derived from Greek to describe any transgenic creature. Word originally applied to a particular transgenic which was part goat, part lion and part snake according to Greek mythology. Chimeras are termed “monsters” in apocryphal literature, referring to creatures derived from the genetic components of spiritual beings and animals.

demon –

Specifically a term referring to the wandering, earth-bound spirits of dead nephilim capable of oppressing, possessing and influencing living people. Generally used in a modern context to refer to any disincarnate malicious spirit.

giants –

The hybrid children of watchers and human women which were of immense stature.

gibbowr –

Hebrew word used often to describe descendants of various nephilim, literally meaning “powerful, warrior, tyrant, giant or mighty man.”

iyr –

Hebrew word for “watcher” meaning literally “wakeful or watchful one, one who watches.”

malak –

Hebrew word for angel, literally meaning “messenger”. (plural: malakim)

nachash –

Hebrew word for “serpent”, literally meaning “serpent, enchanter, or whisperer.”

nephil –

A person of human and angelic hybrid origins. (plural: nephilim)

raphah –

Demons which are regarded as ancestral deities and can incarnate repeatedly within a family line. (plural: rephaim) Hebrew: raphah, literally “to heal or quicken, a ghost, the dead”.

seraph –

A class of spiritual being (angel) which have six wings and can take the form of a dragon or serpent. Hebrew: saraph, literally “burning or fiery serpent”. (plural:  seraphim)

serpent/ dragon –

Either referring to the natural beast used by Satan to gain access to Eve and initiate human rebellion, or the class of spiritual beings to which Satan belongs (seraphim).

siren –

A spirit of a human female who was joined to a heavenly being in marital union during her mortal life. Capable of possession of living human beings and associated with bodies of water, they are known for specifically targeting men through lust and destroying them.

watcher –

A class of spiritual being (angel) which was charged with observance and study of creation, 200 of which rebelled in the transgressions of intermarrying with humanity and introducing forbidden technologies to earth. Generally humanoid appearance of large stature.

Anakim –

Hebrew: Anaqiy, descendants of the nephil “Anak” or “Anaq”, name literally meaning “choked, collared, strangle, encompassed by a chain, necklace.”

Armoni –

Fallen watcher who taught synthesized remedial medicine. From the Greek translation of his name (Pharmaros) is derived the modern terms Pharmacy, pharmacology, pharmacist, etc.. Hebrew: Armoniy “of the devoted or cursed”.

Azazel –

Fallen watcher who was an instigator of the rebellion of the 200. Taught the making and use of weapons of war and taught cosmetic enhancement to women. He is named as the being to which the released goat is sent to on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) to receive all the sins of Israel upon himself in accordance with the curse upon him mentioned in 1 Enoch “to Azazel ascribe: All Sin.” Hebrew: azaz +el “mighty impudence”.

B’nai Elohim –

Hebrew, meaning “sons of the mighty”, often rendered in translation “the sons of God”. Term of reference to any class of being or individual who’s origin is a direct act of creation by YHWH rather than a flesh and blood birth. Used exclusively in the old testament to refer to “angelic” beings in the general sense.

El –

Hebrew singular word literally meaning “mighty”, used in reference to YHWH or a lesser, created heavenly being. Often translated as “god”.

Elohim –

Hebrew plural word meaning literally “mighty ones” used at times in conjunction with a singular identifier to mean YHWH, or used as plural as a collective group of lesser heavenly beings. Often translated “gods”.

Enoch –

Antediluvian patriarch of the seventh generation. Son of Jared, father of Methuselah. He was a prophet who resisted the corruption brought into the world by the Watchers and who subsequently received knowledge of creation and the future through visions given to him by YHWH. He attempted to intercede on behalf of the rebel watchers and when that intercession failed, returned a message of conviction to the rebels from YHWH. Enoch was removed from the earth alive by YHWH prior to the flood. Hebrew: Chanowk “trained, instructed”.

1 Enoch –

A historical and prophetic text which was rejected from canon though validated as containing original writings of Enoch by Jude. Some material attributed to Noah also included in the text. General history of the preflood world, the rebellion of the Watchers and numerous parables and visions given to Enoch by YHWH, including many dealing with the last days. This book is not to be confused with 2 and 3 Enoch which are works written in much more recent times and which do not correlate to any canonical scripture.

Ham –

Son of Noah, one of three to survive the flood with him in the ark. Father of Canaan from who derived several nations of post flood nephilim as well as father of Mitsrayim, patriarch of Egyptian peoples.

Hermon –

Mountain on which the rebel faction of 200 watchers made a pact to enter into marital unions with mortal women and where they situated their headquarters while reigning on Earth. Hebrew: Chermown “seclude, devote, curse, consecrate”.

Ishtar –

Woman deified throughout multiple cultures under multiple derivatives of her name. Human wife of the watcher Shemyhaza, to whom it is said he revealed how to use the name of YHWH in ritual magic. She appears throughout ancient and modern culture as “the Queen of Heaven”, the mother goddess, the earth goddess, the Madonna. Often portrayed as a mermaid in connection with her status as chief of sirens. She is the personified “whore of Babylon” spoken in Revelation. Hebrew” Ishah+taher “pure woman”.

Japheth –

Son of Noah, one of three to survive the flood in the ark with him. Father of Javan, patriarch of Ionian peoples.

Jared –

Antediluvian patriarch of the 6th generation. Son of Mahalaleel, father of Enoch. The rebel watchers came to earth during his lifetime. Hebrew: Yered “descend”.

Lucifer –

Title ascribed to a chief fallen spiritual being in Isaiah chapter 14. Used in a modern context as a proper name for Satan though the title is neither a name nor describes Satan. Most applicably applied to a fallen Watcher, the Hebrew title is literally “heylel:, literally ” to shine or boast”.

Noah –

Man chosen to survive the flood with his family in the ark. Noah was chosen based both upon his willingness to remain loyal to YHWH and his untainted human bloodline which had not been mixed with nephil ancestry. Hebrew: Noach “rest”.

Satan –

Hebrew literal meaning: “accuser, adversary, one who opposes”. Chief of a vast rebellion of spiritual beings which took place in the heavens prior to the creation of mankind. “Satan” is not a name itself, but a descriptive title of the Seraph who led this insurrection and also tempted the first humans to disobey their Creator.

Shem –

Son of Noah, one of three to survive the flood with him in the ark. Patriarch of all Semitic peoples including Israelites. Hebrew: Shem “name, memorial”.

Shemyhaza –

Chief of the rebel faction of 200 watchers which transgressed in intermarrying with human women, begetting nephilim and introducing forbidden technologies to Earth. Hebrew: shem + ya’ah + aza “of the Name of power”.

YHWH –

Proper Hebrew name of the Creator, pronounced with vowel inflections “Yahuwah”, though often given as “Yahweh”. Literal meaning “self existent, or I AM”.

Yahushua –

Proper Hebrew name of Messiah, literally meaning : “the salvation of YAH”.

The Spirit of the “Liliths” in Modern Society

“You’ve come a long way, baby.” The marketing slogan of Virginia Slims, boasted on behalf of “liberated women” in 1968.

The concept of a societal shift into a new era where women were supposedly, finally breaking free of an ages old, male dominated world structure seemed to many women to herald a brighter future, and caused many old fashioned men to long for the “good old days”.

As it has panned out, instead of liberated, women might actually find themselves enslaved to the same old “by the sweat of your brow” misfortune which has always been the lot of men, minus any real elevation of respect, since now more than ever, women are viewed objects of lust.

That is normally the payout of Satan’s promises… he dangles a carrot before some desiring eyes, but when the object is obtained, it seems to always come with all the side effects and none of the cure.

Satan has understood the concept of “the grass is always greener on the other side” for thousands of years, and has always utilized that philosophy against every faction of human society, and even against his own kind… other angels who took the bait and followed his example.

The feminist agenda, like any deceptive philosophy which has shaped what has become the modern structure of society, has beginnings grounded in a precedent set in the early years of human history.

There’s nothing new under the sun… Satan simply knows how to recycle and repackage old news like it was today’s headlines. He re-gifts… and the gifts are usually less appealing than fruitcake.

The beginning of objectification of women is blame that can be easily put on the rebel Watchers.

This class of angels who rebelled in the act of taking human partners and fathering children, were essentially corrupted through lust and for the first time in history, human women began to be a commodity based only on their sexual appeal.

The Watchers, however, had entered into a world which was already in the control of Satan and his rebels.

The atmosphere of Earth was primed for temptation to sin, and certainly Satan recognized the immense value to his goals that could be gained by encouraging the sin of the Watchers to take place.

They brought to the playing field what Satan’s forces lacked… a means to Physically enter in upon the human scene, and change it on an organic level.

The leader of the rebel Watchers, Shemyhaza proposed, what no doubt had already been a temptation in the Watchers thoughts for a while, that they each choose wives, live with them and have children.

She demands he reveal to her the true name of Elohim in exchange for the union, which he at first refuses to do, and then finally agrees.

The picture that we get, then, is the first occasion of a woman manipulating herself into a place of power with someone who would, under normal circumstance, not be subject to her control.

This description of events being essentially the gist of what actually took place would explain the basis of the reason for Ishatar becoming so predominant over her husband in the pagan societies following the flood.

This same legend takes a sudden odd turn at the end which, interestingly reveals the power of her manipulation, not only on one rebel angel, but on the direction world history.

The story ends with Ishatar using the very Name of Elohim which Shemyhaza revealed to her to enable her to fly, and by pronouncing it, escapes his affections and becomes immortalized as a star in the Heavens for retaining her virtue.

This ending to the tale flies in the face of every description of who Ishatar was to the cultures who deified her… far from being a virginal figure of untouchable chastity, she is synonymous everywhere with feminine sexuality taken to a domineering level.

The romanticized fable of the virginal Ishatar has become the prototype of the Catholic Mary, however… even to the point of retaining the title “Queen of Heaven”.

Ishatar then, was the original “women’s Liberation” activist.

Much like her modern age followers… she did not better her position ultimately, as we will see… instead she became the posterchild sex object.

Deified for her position as a consort to a “god” who became faceless and nameless over the years, and as a reproductive tool.

The legend of Lilith has retained some heavily idolized fame in the modern world.

When people generally think of Lilith, they might first recall a story of Adam’s original wife who refused to behave subordinately to him, and instead chose to join herself to a fallen angel (usually cited to be Lucifer) and produced a horde of demon children.

This tale bears no supportable resemblance to anything which literally took place… however, there is a thinly veiled element of veracity which can be traced to reveal the real identity of “Lilith” and where such a story sprang from.

There is not even a scant mention anywhere in scripture or ancient history to support the notion of Adam having had a first wife who was created directly from the Earth as he was, and who was eventually replaced by the more suitable Eve. This concoction is the product of a publication in the middle ages by an anonymous author.

A mention of Lilith occurs in scriptural canon, in Isaiah 34:14, where the word “liylith” is translated as “screech owl” or “night creature”…

“The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals and the wild goat shall bleat to its companion. Also the night creature (liylith) shall rest there and find for herself a place of rest. “

– Isaiah 34:14

Strong’s Concordance gives the definition for liylith as “a night specter”, though if the word is followed back through it’s etymology, one will come to references to wreaths and twining or twisting… followed back even farther, the root comes down to the word – “lawah” which means to join to, to unite with, to cleave.

We then, should be starkly reminded how the marital union between two individuals are described in scripture… as a cleaving, a uniting, a joining.

Those very terms are applied also in respect to those women who married angelic husbands.

Even the symbolism of the wreath, which is referenced in the definition of “liylith” is recognized in pagan practice as a symbol which memorializes fertility deities.

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

– Genesis 2:24

It is fitting that the name Lilith should found to correlate to a joining, a unifying or a cleaving to… the earliest records which are extant of this name call Lilith a handmaid or sacred prostitute in the service of Ishatar.

Further recorded mentions by Assyrian sources do not reflect a Person, but rather a type of entity with the word “lilitu”.

This was a sexually predatory female entity which killed children, brought disease and was associated with storms. This same theme runs parallel to Greek traditions of sirens, who are described much the same way.

Sirens were regarded in Greek mythology as deadly female beings who dwelt either in water or near it… luring men who sailed those waters to their death by singing a song which they could not resist.

The men would then seek to follow the sound, only to be drowned in the waters.

Nymphs, naiads and dryads were similar categories of feminine entities who preyed on men through lust dwelling in fresh water streams, pools or trees which were fed from haunted water sources.

This is the answer which 1 Enoch gives as to the origin of all such beings…

“And Uriel said to me: ‘Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with women, and their spirits assuming many different forms are defiling mankind and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons ‘as gods’,

(here shall they stand,) till ‘the day of’ the great judgment in which they shall be judged till they are made an end of.

And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become sirens.’ “

– 1 Enoch 19

It is most reasonable that the legend of an individual named Lilith has grown out of a general term applied to those women who “joined” themselves to the rebel Watchers, and that it was never in reference to a single female entity.

The wives (and concubines) of the Watchers would naturally fall in line behind Ishatar, who would be the “first lady” so to speak, her husband being the foremost authority amongst the rebels.

Ishatar has not lost any relevance in this modern age, which indicates the greater magnitude of importance she came to represent, above even the majority of the fallen angels… particularly their leader.

Besides the Catholic Church, who proudly displays her as the supposed mother of Messiah, she is a favorite corporate logo and a beloved symbol of “liberty” in the United States.

She is emblazoned on the sides of Starbucks coffee cups and her figure is the first image you will see when you watch any Columbia film production.

Her presence as a force, behind a misguided concept of feminism, still galvanizes young girls to assert their “individuality”, only to be dragged into an ever worsening scene of female objectification and degradation.

It is no accident that a “lilith” philosophy reigns in the same age as rampant unwed pregnancies and abortion…

she has always been the reigning queen of deviant behavior and infanticide since the far, ancient past until this day.

Yom Kippur: The Peculiar Case of a Mysterious Scapegoat

Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement is perhaps the most mysterious of all holy days given to Israel to keep.

It is widely taught by Christian leadership that this day is a foreshadowing of Messiah’s atonement on the cross for believers, yet the foreshadowing of this event is much more applicable to another day which Israel was to keep in remembrance, namely Passover.

The bondage with which Israel served in Egypt is not unlike the bondage of the whole of humanity under Satan and his power.

The angel of death which was sent to smite the first born in Egypt is obviously counterpart to the fact that the wages of sin is death. The lamb’s blood which is applied to the doorposts is a direct foreshadowing of the covering of the blood of Yahushua, which causes the angel of death to “pass over” the believer. Eating the lamb is mirrored in the words Yahushua spoke at the last supper, which itself was a Passover meal…”this is my body..”

The purpose of Yom Kippur, then, would reasonably stand for a different set of circumstances relating to atonement and cleansing.

Here is the description of the instructions to Israel which were to be performed for the Day of Atonement:

{3} ‘Aharown shall come into the Sacred Place with the blood of a young bull as a sin offering and of a ram as a burnt offering.

{4} He shall put the sacred linen tunic and the linen trousers on his body. He shall be girded with a linen sash and with the linen turban he shall be attired. These are sacred garments. Therefore he shall wash his body in water and put them on.

{5} And he shall take from the congregation of the sons of Yisra’el two kids of the goats as a sin offering and one ram as a burnt offering.

{6} ‘Aharown shall offer the bull as a sin offering for himself and make atonement for himself and for his house.

{7} He shall take the two goats and present them before Yahuwah at the door of the tent of meeting.

{8} Then ‘Aharown shall cast lots for the two goats. One lot for Yahuwah and the other lot for the scapegoat.

{9} And ‘Aharown shall bring the goat on which Yahuwah’s lot fell and offer it as a sin offering.

{10} But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before Yahuwah to make atonement upon it and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.

{11} And ‘Aharown shall bring the bull of the sin offering for himself and make atonement for himself and for his house and shall kill the bull as the sin offering that is for himself.

{12} Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before Yahuwah, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil.

{13} And he shall put the incense on the fire before Yahuwah that the cloud of incense may cover the cover that is on the testimony lest he die.

{14} He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the cover on the east side and before the cover he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

{15} Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering for the people, bring its blood inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the cover and before the cover.

{16} So he shall make atonement for the Sacred Place because of the uncleanness of the sons of Yisra’el and because of their transgressions, for all their sins, and so he shall do for the tent of meeting that remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

{17} There shall be no man in the tent of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the Sacred Place until he comes out that he may make atonement for himself, for his household, and for all the assembly of Yisra’el.

{18} And he shall go out to the altar that is before Yahuwah and make atonement for it and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

{19} Then he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and consecrate it from the uncleanness of the sons of Yisra’el.

{20} And when he has made an end of atoning for the Sacred Place, the tent of meeting, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat.

{21} ‘Aharown shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Yisra’el, and all their transgressions concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man.

{22} The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

{23} Then ‘Aharown shall come into the tent of meeting, shall take off the linen garments that he put on when he went into the Sacred Place, and shall leave them there.

{24} And he shall wash his body with water in a sacred place, put on his garments, come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

{25} The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.

{26} And he who released the goat as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water and afterward he may come into the camp.

{27} The bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Sacred Place shall be carried outside the camp and they shall burn in the fire their skins, their flesh, and their offal.

{28} Then he who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water and afterward he may come into the camp.

{29} This shall be a statute forever for you. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls and do no work at all, whether a native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you.

– Leviticus 16:3-29

The first action which is to be performed involves a bull. The bull is offered as a sacrifice for Aaron and for his own family personally.

The second action involves casting lots for two goat kids. Here is where, upon close examination, the ritual becomes very strange.

Lots are cast and one goat is selected randomly to be a slain sacrifice “for YHWH” to atone for the “uncleanness” of the children of Israel.

The second goat is then designated as “for the scapegoat” according to KJV and most other English translations. This goat is to be let go alive into the wilderness after receiving upon its head all the “iniquities” of Israel.

The notion that both of these goats are sacrifices for moral transgression does not make a lot of sense. One is slain, the other released, but if the slain goat is sacrificed to atone for moral transgression, what then is the point of also loading those same sins onto a live goat which will depart into the wilderness?

The first of these goats makes an atonement Because of the uncleanness of Israel, but the atonement is For the “holy place”. (“So he shall make atonement for the Sacred Place because of the uncleanness of the sons of Yisra’el” – Lev.16:16)

As the first goat is randomly selected by lot for a personal being, the Creator YHWH – it follows, naturally that the second goat is also selected for a Person – rather than the way it reads in English “for the scapegoat”, as if the lot is selected for the goat.

If the second goat is not designated as belonging to an individual, we would expect the first to be described in like manner, such as “One lot for the goat to be slain to YHWH, and the other lot for the scapegoat”.

The incongruity of the English translation suggests that a name has been omitted here.

The word for scapegoat, given in Hebrew is “azazel”… the definition for which is given “goat of departure, scapegoat”..

The claim of this definition is supposedly resting on the root words – “ez”, a word which is used for a she-goat in the singular and “azal” – to disappear or depart.

There is no question that the given root of the word azazel is flawed, and flawed in such a way that it’s almost impossible to imagine it being an honest error.

The word “ez” is not itself a root definition, but goes back to the word “az” which means, strong, powerful and fierce. The use of the word for a goat came from the goat’s exhibiting of these traits.

Furthermore, the word “azaz” which also derived from “az” and is clearly nearer the mark in reference to “azazel” means to harden oneself impudently or to be strong in opposition against.

The suffix “el” is very common in Hebrew and is a word which literally means “Mighty One” and can both refer to YHWH Elohim or to an angel.

Azazel, then, correctly translated, is “One Who Is impudently hardened against YHWH”.

Azazel is a being… one who has his fist scriptural mention in a book outside of canon:1 Enoch, and so it begins to make some sense as to why pains would be taken to eliminate a canonical reference to a name which only appears elsewhere in books rejected from canon.

“Moreover Azazel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates,

the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows,

the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered.

Impiety increased; fornication multiplied; and they transgressed and corrupted all their ways.”

– 1 Enoch 8:1,2

Back to the first goat which was to be slain… the indication of the fact that the atonement took away some uncleanness from the children of Israel, in order that they might not be an affront to YHWH in His holy place, brings up the question what manner of uncleanness might this be that is different from the iniquities which are placed upon the goat to be sent away.

Uncleanness here is the word “Tamah” which is to be contaminated or defiled.

This word appears in numerous places to describe physical characteristics of uncleanliness. A Woman in her menstrual cycle for instance, or someone who has a contagious disease in defined as “tamah”.

When it is understood that Yom Kippur, is in part, related to a fallen angel named Azazel, who numbered among rebels which physically polluted the human gene pool, it is more clear what a physical uncleanness might be which needs some amendment, at least spiritually, before the congregation can come before the Holy Place.

The nation of Israel was meant to preserve a pure human stock which was not to me mingled with the hybrid multitudes of other nations.

It still can not be expected that the congregation of Israel was Completely pure of intermingling… indeed we are told several times throughout scripture of the seed of Abraham taking to themselves wives from other nations.

Yom Kippur is also a commandment to foreigners who live with Israel… in other words, that uncleanness which is assumed to be in some small part contaminating some of Israel is surely to be expected in a foreigner.

An offering “for Azazel” might strike believers as very, very unseemly business for the people of YHWH to be commanded to do.

The implication that this goat is a sacrifice to a fallen angel has kept most believers from coming to terms with the meaning of Yom Kippur as it is stated in scripture.

This is a misunderstanding though… the released goat is not meant as a gesture of worship or a sacrifice to the fallen angel… rather it is meant as a means to convey the penalty of the sin which is upon Israel to the fallen angel.

In fact, the word which was used in English to replace Azazel’s name – scapegoat, has, to this day preserved the true meaning of the ritual which was ironically hidden by the same word.

Scapegoat now means to impart blame on a party other than the one who actually committed the transgression.

The very reason that such a ritual should exist goes back to a single, little known sentence which was spoken by YHWH to Enoch.

“All the earth has been corrupted by the effects of the teaching of Azazel. To him therefore write: All Sin.”.

– 1 Enoch 10:12

It was this curse placed upon Azazel which became the foundational reason for conveying the iniquities of Israel to him. Azazel was cursed to pay the penalty for all the sin of His people.

Azazel, of course does not represent the atonement for which Messiah came. Azazel merely became the temporary object of YHWH’s wrath for all that was done wrong by His people so that He could, instead of cursing them, bless them, until the Messiah came and forever removed the necessity for a “scapegoat”.

It is further made evident that Azazel is the focus of the second selected goat on Yom Kippur in that the goat was taken out into the desert to be set free.

The goat would not survive… it would surely die. We might assume it would die of thirst or starvation but Israel so feared that the animal would return to them and therefor bring back with it their iniquities, that they often threw it into a canyon to ensure its death.

It is told in 1 Enoch that the place they released the goat is also the place where YHWH sentenced Azazel to imprisonment beneath the Earth.

“Again the Lord said to Raphael, Bind Azazel hand and foot; cast him into darkness; and opening the desert which is in Dudael, cast him in there.

Throw upon him hurled and pointed stones, covering him with darkness;”

– 1 Enoch 10:6,7

The blood of bulls and goats of course could never set sinners free eternally from the bonds of their sin… neither could visiting those sins on a fallen angel.

Perfect Justice is not served in either way, as the life of animals does not equate to the life of a human being nor can a wicked angel be forced to carry the burden to any ultimate effect…himself having been a sinner who could not pay his own price.

For sin to be Eradicated… it required nothing less than Yahushua, perfect and Almighty, to be our Passover lamb.

An Angel Named Armoni : Sorcerers Then and Now

What would the world do if no one could any longer deny some uncomfortable information? How would people respond to knowing – without the ability to ignore it – that something which seemed so necessary to their lives had been introduced to Earth by a being who had opposed the Creator?

If information which had such deadly potential and consequences that the Creator has not only punished the rebel who brought it here, but has utterly condemned it’s use among mankind, has craftily become the normal way of things in the world, shouldn’t anyone want to know?

Of course they do not though, and people do have the ability to deny what they wish – but at what cost is willful denial of His warnings?

The book of Enoch, called 1 Enoch, describes a list of chiefs of angelic rebels and the area of knowledge which they possessed and taught to mankind.

It is not difficult for believers in YHWH to agree that Azazel teaching warfare to humanity was harmful to them, or that Barakyel, who taught what seems to be a description of divination by stars taught a forbidden thing.

There might be few who call themselves Christians who have a life which relies on things like warfare and astrology, but then there is one named Armers or Armoni, and this one, it is written, taught the remedies of sorcery. (1 Enoch 8:4)

This too, could be cause for little concern for those who understand sorcery as being some sort of long abandoned practice of magic, conjuring demons or casting spells, but this is a misunderstanding.

The name of this one fallen chief of the Watchers becomes the key to understanding what it is he really brought to earth and how it infects the whole world today perhaps more than ever.

The name Armoni or Harmoni is a derivative of the same word which the mountain of the Watchers descent (Hermon) is from: charam, which means a thing devoted or a thing dedicated to destruction, a curse or an oath.

The Greek manuscript of 1 Enoch renders this name: Pharmaros.

Pharmaros became the root of Greek words such as Pharmakeia, Pharmakon and Pharmakeus or Pharmakos, these likewise became the roots of English words like pharmacology and pharmaceutical and pharmacist.

The definition of the Greek words does not differ at all from the definitions of the English words which grew out of them.

Pharmakeia meant the making and the use of drugs, pharmakon meant drugs, and pharmakeus or pharmakon meant a druggist.

Scripture is very clear about YHWH’s view on the practice of pharmacology, it could not be made any more obvious that He despises its practice and looks unfavorably on those who would use “pharmakon”.

What has made the realizing of this difficult for readers of the canon of the bible, or even readers of 1 Enoch, is that in both instances the translations into English render the practice “sorcery”.

“And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries (pharmakeia) or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”

– Revelation 9:21

“The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth. For by your sorcery (pharmakeia) all the nations were deceived”

– Revelation 18:23

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers (pharmakeus), image worshippers, and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

– Revelation 21:8

“But outside are dogs and sorcerers (pharmakon) and sexually immoral and murderers and image worshippers, and whoever loves and practices a lie.”

– Revelation 22:15

We must make note that there is no distinction to be made that there is a difference between a use of these cursed things and the abuse of them.

It simply would make no sense to try to make such distinction where there is absolutely no basis in the text to do so, and no logical reasoning behind it either.

The whole world of this present age is devoted to relying on, profiting from, and consuming sorcery – which is nothing more, and has never been anything more, than the unnatural chemical concoctions which are made and prescribed for every sort of illness real and imagined, under the sun – otherwise known as drugs.

Scripture does not mention good ones as opposed bad ones, it does not mention too much as opposed to a an acceptable amount or a good reason as opposed to a less good reason to use them. It simply condemns them entirely.

What the world has been taught – which is part of a great lie to destroy spiritual understanding as well as physical health – is the following:

1 – That present day pharmacology is new and modern and a mark of human achievement.

2- That sorcery is a mystical and ancient practice which has nothing to do with physical applications or components.

3- That humanity was generally sicker, weaker and had shorter lives before the use of drugs as remedies became commonplace.

4- That there are some diseases which can only be treated with pharmaceuticals and anything else would be less effective or not effective at all.

5- That drugs are generally safe, or they would not be made available to people to use.

6- That living a life without drugs is impossible or at least will be a short life full of ailments.

What people do not realize is that this art of creating compounds of unnaturally combined chemicals, elements and isolates, originates before the great flood, and became ever after part of a body of secret knowledge which elite societies and mystery schools have kept – and they, if not the public, understand to this day that this is the root of that practice which has taken over the whole world.

Ancient Egyptians and Babylonians understood and practiced pharmacology and the link that it has with the beings that were worshiped as deities in their cultures (fallen angels) was obvious in the fact that these practices were taught and learned in temples and by priests.

Remedy has always been the focus of pharmacological medicine, as can be seen in the description of the Watcher who taught it (“Armers taught the remedies of sorcery”) and can be seen still in how it is used today.

Remedies, never prevention, because a prevention does not allow for the profit of those who make remedies. Compare this medicinal method to what is taught in the Word of YHWH. Guidelines in how to remain clean, laws regarding the touching of dead things or of the dead touching that which is used or eaten, the separation of the ill from the well – all of these things are preventative, which real medicine should always aim to be.

The physicians of ancient Greece were dedicated to the deity which represented remedies – Asclepius, who’s shrines were the centers of the medical practice of that culture.There they performed surgeries and even used anesthetic.

Spiritualism, and a connection with forces which operate outside of the human physical world – gods, angels and demons – have always been connected to pharmacology in the traditions of those who have practiced it. It is no different today.

The original Hippocratic oath begins this way:

“I swear by Apollo, the healer, Asclepius, Hygieia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment, the following Oath and agreement:”

It is maybe no coincidence that an oath sealed the decision of the rebel Watchers to co-mingle with human women, and to teach forbidden knowledge to them, or that the Watcher who specifically taught pharmacology is himself named in reference to an oath or devoted thing. Today an oath is still a part of becoming a practitioner of modern medicine.

Angels and the Mysterious Sin of Sodom

It is almost an automatic reference to homosexuality and homosexual activity in these days to refer to “Sodomy”. When most Christian clergy refer to “the sin of Sodom”, this is what is normally meant and it is thus usually taught that the wickedness which brought about the destruction of Sodom and the neighboring Gomorrah was sexual immorality of a homosexual nature.

The one, and the only real basis for the connection between homosexuality and the destruction of Sodom is the description of events given in Genesis which follow two angels taking up lodging in Lot’s home. These angels, referred to as simply “men” in certain instances throughout the account, are sought after by the residents of the city (male residents it would seem) for illicit sexual encounters. Obviously the angels were in such a form as to be obviously male… as to whether or not they were obviously not human, that is made less clear.

“Now the two messengers came to Sedom in the evening and Lowt was sitting in the gate of Sedom. When Lowt saw them, he rose to meet them and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. And he said, “Here now, my masters, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise early and go on your way.”

And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.” But he insisted strongly, so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a banquet and baked unleavened bread and they ate.

Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sedom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lowt and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”

So Lowt went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, and said, “Please, my brothers, do not do so wickedly! See now! I have two daughters who have not known a man. I pray, let me bring them out to you and you may do to them as you wish. Only do nothing to these men since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”

And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here and he keeps acting as a judge. Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lowt and came near to break down the door.

But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lowt into the house with them and shut the door. And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door”
– Genesis 19:1-11

The difficulty with making a sure case for the sin of Sodom being one of a primarily homosexual nature comes in references to it outside of the initial account, particularly in Jude.

“And the angles who did not keep their proper domain but left their own abode He has reserved in eternal chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day, as Sedom and Amorah and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
-Jude 6,7

There are two important points to notice in these verses in Jude. It would seem at first glance, and without using references outside of the New Testament that we have a very strange comparison being made.

Here is a comparison between fallen angels and the sin for which Sodom and Gomorrah were judged: “AS Sedom and Amorah (Sodom and Gomorrah) …IN SIMILAR MANNER TO THESE (“these” being angels which kept not their first estate), having given themselves over to sexual immorality.”

It would be odd, then, to imagine that the comparison being made had something to do with homosexuality. Did any angels fall into transgression because of homosexual relationships? Most ,i think, could agree that there is no basis anywhere to support a correlation between the fall of angels and a sin of homosexuality, but there is some manner of sexual sin alluded to here.

The exact reference is to “going after strange flesh.” The exact connotation in Greek is: going after strange (heteros – other, different) flesh.

Ironically, the very word in Greek used here: “heteros” is a root used today in the term “heterosexual” to specifically refer to normal, opposite sex relationships, as meaning that the sexes involved are “different” from each other as opposed to “homosexual” where the connotation is that the sexes are the same: homo= same.

The very root words of the text of this verse are diametrically opposed to the correlation of homosexuality and the sin of Sodom.

What the sin is then, in actuality, is not that we have individuals going after same sex partners, but that they are going after a kind of flesh or body which is different than their own.

This would never make sense simply confined to humanity… outside of gender differences which are, of course, an absolute necessity for procreation, not an aberration… what great difference of physicality could there be to constitute a mortal sin should that boundary be crossed?

Furthermore… we still have the problem of the angels. What do they have to do with any of this?

The connection between fallen angels and the sin of Sodom is made again in 2 Peter…

“For if Yahuwah did not spare the angels who sinned, but put them into the deepest abyss of she’owl and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved for judgment, and did not spare the ancient world but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the irreverent and turning the cities of Sedom and Amorah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making an example to those who afterward would live impiously and delivered righteous Lowt, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked”
– 2 Peter 2: 4-7

One might just conclude that there is no connection of the two subject matters mentioned here (angels and the sin of Sodom) It is rarely the case in scripture, however, that multiple unrelated concepts are introduced in proximity to each other in this way, and of course coupling that with the Jude verses, which are unambiguous in their comparison of the subjects… the most logical answer is that the same comparison is being made here in 2 Peter.

It goes slightly further in demystifying the underlying reasoning for the comparison than Jude does, in fact. Here, we might not see just two subjects being compared, but three… the third being the world before the flood and the state of wickedness it was in which brought on that flood.

This seeming third subject matter is not, however, a separate reference, and here is where the puzzle pieces are merged to make a clear and obvious picture.

For those already sufficiently familiar with 1 Enoch, there should be no difficulty in coming to the logical answer as to what sin is being punished which applies to both angles and the city of Sodom.

For those believers who have been taught and rigidly accept the teaching that 1 Enoch is not canonical and therefor not true or acceptable as scripture, I challenge you to rigorously test that conviction against the simplest of logical conclusions one can come to on this matter.

I Enoch provides a concise, consistent and thorough background to the verses in Jude and 2 Peter which simply can’t be ignored for it’s blatant treatment of this exact subject matter and it leaves little room to doubt that Jude and Peter were very familiar with the story described in 1 Enoch, and referred back to it.

If it is not enough that the subject matter is exactly the same, one needs to also recall that Jude himself acknowledges Enoch as the original author of an exact 1 Enoch quote in his writings.

Here is the comparison of the subject of the sin of the angels in the New Testament and 1 Enoch…

The Sin:

It happened after the sons of men had multiplied in those days, that daughters were born to them, elegant and beautiful. And when the angels, the sons of heaven, beheld them, they became enamored of them, saying to each other, Come, let us select for ourselves wives from the progeny of men, and let us beget children.
– 1 Enoch 7:1-3

“Go, say to the Watchers (angels) of heaven, who have sent you to pray for them, You ought to pray for men, and not men for you. Wherefore have you forsaken the lofty and holy heaven, (Jude: “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain but left their own abode”…) which endures for ever, and have lain with women; have defile yourselves with the daughters of men; have taken to yourselves wives; have acted like the sons of the earth, and have begotten an impious offspring? (Jude: “having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh”)

You being spiritual, holy, and possessing a life which is eternal, have polluted yourselves with women; have begotten in carnal blood; have lusted in the blood of men; and have done as those who are flesh and blood do.These however die and perish.Therefore have I given to them wives, that they might cohabit with them; that sons might be born of them; and that this might be transacted upon earth.

But you from the beginning were made spiritual, possessing a life which is eternal, and not subject to death for ever.Therefore I made not wives for you, because, being spiritual, your dwelling is in heaven.
– 1 Enoch 15:1-7

The Punishment of the Angels:

“the Lord said, Go and announce his crime to Samyaza, and to the others who are with him, who have been associated with women, that they might be polluted with all their impurity. And when all their sons shall be slain, when they shall see the perdition of their beloved, bind them for seventy generations underneath the earth even to the day of judgment, and of consummation, until the judgment…”
– 1 Enoch 10:15

“From this time forward, never shall you ascend into heaven; He has said, that on the earth He will bind you, as long as the world endures.”
– 1 Enoch 14:4

(2 Peter: “For if Yahuwah did not spare the messengers who sinned, but put them into the deepest abyss of she’owl and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved for judgment…”)

(Jude: “…He has reserved in eternal chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day”)

The Deluge:

“Then the Most High, the Great and Holy One spoke, And sent Uriel to the son of Lamech (Noah), Saying, Say to him in my name, Conceal yourself. Then explain to him the consummation which is about to take place; for all the earth shall perish; the waters of a deluge shall come over the whole earth, and all things which are in it shall be destroyed.”
– 1 Enoch 10:1-4

“In those days shall punishment go forth from the Lord of spirits; and the receptacles of water which are above the heavens shall be opened, and the fountains likewise, which are under the heavens and under the earth.All the waters, which are in the heavens and above them, shall be mixed together.The water which is above heaven shall be the agent;And the water which is under the earth shall be the recipient: and all shall be destroyed who dwell upon earth, and who dwell under the extremities of heaven. By these means shall they understand the iniquity which they have committed on earth: and by these means shall they perish.”
– 1 Enoch 53:7-11

(2 Peter:”…and did not spare the ancient world but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the irreverent…”)

Here is where we may examine another interesting mention of the circumstances preceding the flood as compared to the sin of Sodom…

Luke 17:26-29: “And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man. They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Likewise as it was also in the days of Lowt. They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day that Lowt went out of Sedom it rained fire and brimstone from the sky and destroyed them all.”

With these other similar and descriptive verses concerning the same theme of ideas, perhaps there is a clearer idea provided here as to who “they” are in this instance in Luke… a peculiar and pointed list of carnal pleasures which were indulged in by “them” up until the point of the flood (eating, drinking, marriage).

Now returning to the initial description of the angels coming to Sodom where they are put up in Lot’s house prior to Sodom’s destruction… it is easier to understand that the abomination which the residents are about to perpetrate upon the angelic visitors has less to do with gender than it does with an attempted inter-species union.

Though as I mentioned earlier, it is not made abundantly clear whether or not the angels were Obviously angels, the implication is, at least, that Lot knew it and if he was aware there is a fair chance that the residents of the city also knew what sort of creatures they were, and their response to it (unlike the righteous response of Lot) was an unthinkably wicked one… they intended to knowingly sexually molest holy angels.

This is logically followed by the reaction of the angels who, after blinding the perpetrators, make it clear to Lot that it was the last straw as far as YHWH was concerned and he and his family had to get out now… not later.

It is obvious that what had been going on in Sodom for some time which led to it’s destruction was an ongoing practice of species boundary crossing… the question being with whom or what?

Bestiality would fit the bill in some respects and no doubt occurred, yet they were immediately drawn toward angels when they arrived… they were a community very enamored with a “nostalgia” for the wicked, pre-flood world order.

Since nephilim did exist post-flood and thrived in the land which Israel eventually inherited, the objective was not simply to destroy a remnant nephil population, or the destruction would have included more than just a couple of cities.

It might be fair to say that Sodom was involved with an attempt to re-create the conditions prior to the flood socially as well as technologically, a theme which the whole world is set to attempt to achieve in these modern times.

“And I will give to my two witnesses and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the ‘Eloah of the earth.

And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These have power to shut the sky so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy and they have power over waters to turn them to blood and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that spiritually is called Sedom (Sodom) and Mitsrayim (Egypt) where also our Master was impaled”
– Revelation 11:3-8

The Phoenix : The Watcher Rebellion

Not many bible readers give a lot of thought to a man named Jared who lived in the sixth generation of mankind, descending from Seth. Indeed he was not notable, at least in scripture, for anything other than being the father of Enoch… it was what took place in his lifetime that would literally change the course of human history dramatically and forever.

Jared’s name itself is a memorial to the event, being translated from Yered… the name means “the descent”.. or “a descending”. Religious traditions of countless cultures all over the world testify to who or what descended… His Word of Truth answers that question also and does so with an accuracy that has been lost or purposely hidden in the various pagan cultures who echoed the historical event in their accounts.

YHWH created, not only a varied and interesting array of life on Earth, but also a varied and interesting array of spiritual life in heavenly realms. Amongst these beings which are collectively thought of as “angels” , is a certain type called the Iyrin. This word translates to “wakeful or watchful ones” or more commonly, “Watchers”.

These beings were stationed to be observers of creation to the end that they would be privileged to learn the mysteries of YHWH’s design and take a record of that which they observed for a testimony to all creatures of His perfection. A particular group of Watchers, 200 in all, were stationed to observe the Earth specifically under the leadership of one named Shemyhaza.

In the process of observing Earth, these 200 Watchers were witness to some amazing aspects of His creation which are commonplace for mankind, but to beings who had nothing comparable to them in their own existence, seemed incredibly fascinating.

The most fascinating aspect of all was the miracle of flesh creatures’ ability to procreate… and the most fascinating aspect in that detail was the human female. The human female was the nearest opposite sex creature to the Watchers themselves. No female or need for females existed in the world of angelic beings, but having seen such a creature as a woman, the leader of the 200 was captivated.

This interest might have remained an innocent, clinical fascination but for some influence which pushed this from a place of clinical interest to an obsession. There is fair evidence to suggest Azazel, a fallen angel who is interestingly implied to be the leader of these rebels in some instances in 1 Enoch, was that influence.

At the point where fascination became obsession, Shemyhaza led his 199 subordinates to descend to Earth at a precise geological point located at the summit of Mt Hermon. Here it was also, that the decision was made by him to cross the boundaries of his nature and propose that he and his subordinates take human wives and conceive children with them.

Shemyhaza being concerned that the others might change their minds and leave him with the burden of guilt, it was suggested to him that they all make a binding oath with one another that they would not turn back from the plan. This they did, and so the mountain, Hermon, is named to this day after that event… it’s name meaning “a curse”.

It is supposed sometimes that the Watchers had to take unwilling women and force them to comply with their demands to be a wife to them… but realistically, they had no difficulty finding willing participants. Just as the rich and famous and powerful men of this day have no difficulty finding partners.

Humanity was face to face with a collection of beings who had knowledge that had the power to make their lives easier… who had the means to give advantage to anyone who allied themselves with them… who were physically impressive and nearly indestructible, even in a flesh form.

Fathers were not as reluctant as they perhaps should have been to marry their daughters off to these Watchers in return for the prestige and advantage of being the “father in law” to an angel. Women were not as reluctant as they should have been to enter into marital union with a tall, blond, blue eyed creature that would elevate their lives to the equivalent of human “goddesses”.

The resulting offspring of these unions were huge… much larger than their own fathers’ physical forms, and so large, in fact that their appetites could not be satiated with all the food mankind had to offer them.

The giants then turned to eating animals… unheard of until that time… and then finally to eating humans. The giants themselves were not the only boundary crossed in hybrid life-forms.

The Watchers were also approached by their counterparts who had fallen in allegiance to Satan and who did not have the luxury of a physical presence in earth, and were requested by them to engineer body forms which they themselves could inhabit.

The creatures were the chimeras… made by genetic manipulation, they were variously part animal, part human, part animal, part angel, or a combination of different animal species, and all of the above. Not every chimera body was used as host for fallen angels.. but many were and hence comes the legends of “gods” having forms which were part animal and part humanoid.

Aside from the abominable breeding experiments, the Watchers also sinned in one other serious way… and that was teaching mankind the secrets of certain areas of knowledge which they had accumulated in their duty to observe and record the nature of His creation.

Often this is noted as being some kind of “magic” knowledge… what people do not readily understand by reading the descriptions of these secrets in the archaic way they are presented in 1 Enoch… is that these things are what we would find to be very ordinary, everyday fields of science and technology which are hailed as great accomplishments of mankind and seen as wonderful progress in this day and age.

The pre-flood world was no primitive scene… due to the Watchers intervention… it was a high tech and very advanced world utilizing technologies that would make some of those today look cumbersome and crude by comparison.

Man has not actually advanced… nor discovered great scientific finds… modern man has simply re-discovered or been re-introduced to very old knowledge in a rather incomplete fashion and instead of it being a virtue and a sign of progress… it is instead only causing mankind to become more lazy… less able to learn.. .less willing to rely on their Creator.

Human history might have ended here. Mankind as a pure species might have become entirely extinct and the world little by little descend into a state of irreconcilable ruin… but to prevent any of this, YHWH sent the flood.
